This was a challenge story from my Imzadi All group. The challenge was what if Riker became pregnant? How would he become pregnant, duration didn't matter and his reaction to becoming pregnant. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. This story won an award! See below! It is post ST: X

Chapter 1

The Valiant was sailing smoothly through space. All sensors were signaling clear sailing. Even the Neutral Zone was very peaceful. Too peaceful in Riker's opinion.

"Well," thought Riker. "Nice pleasant day, but it sure is a hell of a bore."

As though granting his wish for more excitement the space came alive with bolts of electricity in many different colours. The ship shook from the waves of thunder.

"What the hell was that?" Riker questioned excitedly.

"According to these readings," the science officer began. "The chemical composition is that of a new planet forming. Only there's no planet developing."

"Interesting." Riker stated. "Let's observe it for as long as we can, but from a safe distance."

"Aye, sir." said the officier at the con.

The crew watched the intriguing light show in awe. There were many colours of different chemicals and not a one of them succeeded in joining together to start forming a new planet.

"Any ideas of what it might be?" inquired Riker.

A chorus of of possibilities and "I don't knows" went around the bridge. Then as suddenly as the bizarre storm started, it stopped. Then in a flash of light, Q was on Captain Riker's bridge.

"Ah, mon capiton!"

"Q!" Riker exclaimed. "I should have guessed you put that little display on."

"Oh, I was not alone!" Q stated. "I assure you! Which is why I am here."

"The storm?"

"No and yes." said Q.

"Come on, Q! I don't have time for these games!" Riker informed.

"I asked Admiral Janeway for her help as the Godmother of my first child and she refused. As did Admiral Pick-ard. And after all I've done for them! I'm appaulled!" Q frowned with distain.

"What is it you want, Q!" Riker demanded.

"It seems Mrs. Q has her feathers in a ruffle due to the fact she caught me with another female Q."

Riker turns his back on Q and says, "I can't help you."

"She's out for blood." Q informed.

Turning back around Riker rhetorically asked, "And what do you expect me to do about that?"

Just then, Deanna walked in looking about six month pregnant with twins.

"Oh, Mrs. Riker! You look lovely!" Q tried to flatter her, but she gave no response. "I'm sorry. Is it Mrs. Troi? Captain and Mrs. Troi! Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"

"Q!" Riker screamed "Get off my bridge!"

"Perhaps this will change your mind, Mr. Troi!"

Deanna gasped at the sudden knowledge she was carrying one less child. She sensed the child within her was also upset.

"My baby!" she said in alarm and then noticed Will.

"There, Mrs. Riker. Now you carry half the load, while Captain Troi carries the other half."

Turning on Q like a lioness protecting her cubs, she shouted, "Q! If any harm comes to my baby!"

"You'll what?" Q asked sadistically. Then he looked at the crew. "Women can be so bitchy when they're pregnant. Can't they, Captain Troi?"

Riker was in shock, but slowly he said, "Q, this is my wife's job. Not mine." Will then looked back down at his stomach, still in shock.

"Q!" Two female voices shouted in unison. Deanna wondered who the other voice was.

In utter panic Q said, "Don't worry, your baby is fine." Then he flashed out as Mrs. Q flashed onto the bridge.

"Where is he?" Mrs. Q demanded.

"I'm pregnant." Will said, still in shock.

Noticing her husband was not capable of being in charge at this time, Deanna took charge. "If you mean Q," Deanna informed, "He left just as you arrived."

"Good thing too, because from the looks of things" she said looking at Riker and Deanna, "He's really wrecking hevoc. Would you like me to get him for you too, Mrs. Riker.

"Yes, please do." Deanna demanded. "And make him put things right." Deanna looked at her husband who was experiencing a kicking child within him and having mixed emotions over it.

"It's kicking." Riker said placing his hand on his stomach. His face looked like it was beyond shock by this time.

She then turned back to Mrs. Q and added "And hurry, before I or the doctor have to force the captain to take time off for mental and physical reasons."

"I thoroughly understand." Mrs. Q agreed looking at Riker. "Maybe for Q's punishment for getting another female Q pregnant and a human male, I should make him carry our second precious bundle of joy." Then she patted her stomach.

"You?" Deanna asked wide mouth.

"Yes, five months" Mrs. Q smiled.

"You don't show at all!"

"We Q's have ways of not showing." she smiled.

Still looking in awe at his stomach and feeling the baby kicking within him, Will said, "OK, I have no idea which one you are, but you can settle down anytime now."

His hand came up and patted his stomach. Will paused and looked at his crew, not knowing exactly what to do. He said only two words with uncharacteristic fear in his voice, "I'm pregnant."

"Q!" Mrs. Q and Deanna yelled and Mrs. Q zapped out.

Chapter 2

Deanna sensed Will was mentally disturbed by the situation. She walked over to him and said, "Let's get you to sick bay."

"But I..."

"But nothing. As Ship's Counselor, I deem you temporally unable to perform your duties and as mother of your child, I want to know that our child is fine."

"How so?"

"Which part? The mother or the counselor?"

"Counselor." Will said a little indignate.

"You're in shock right now." she stated. "Let's go."

"I'm pregnant, not sick." Will protested while Deanna dragged him to the turbolift.

"Commander," Deanna said, "You have the bridge." She then proceeded to guide her husband to the turbolift as he continued to protest and insisted that he was only pregnant.

"It's kicking." he said with concern on his face.

"I know dear. It's ok." she reassured him.

"For you maybe!" Will exclaimed. "But I'm a man!"

The turbolift doors closed and the crew broke out in laughter. Some made comments about Will's new condition, even. In the turbolift, though, Will stood looking more stunned than before. As though he had been trying to control his shock on the bridge.

Just before the doors to the turbolift openned Will said, "I do hope Q puts our baby back in you really soon, because I don't know how I'll deliver this child."

As the doors openned, Deanna guided him out saying, "C-Section."

"Cut me open!" he croaked out in alarm and stopped.

"Hon," Deanna coaxed. "We must get you to sick bay."

Crew members starred at their captain as they past him in the corridors. Will felt very self-conscious and said, "Deanna, since I am relieved of duty, why can't I go to quarters and lie down? I'm feeling very tired."

"No," she said firmly. "You are going to see the doctor."

They walked into sickbay, finally. Deanna had to coax Will all the way, though. As for Will, he wanted to run and hide.

"Ah, Captain, Counselor." Greeted the doctor. "What's the problem?"

"I'm pregnant." stated Riker.

"Yes, we know, dear." Deanna said as though to say, "Please do shut up and let me talk."

All the doctor said was, "So I've heard." He had a frown on his face as though he was none to happy about this situation, but would deal with it as best he could.

The doctor look at Will's extented belly and said, "Why don't we have a seat up here."

"We?" Will asked. "Doctor, I think with me being pregnant and all, there isn't enough room for all of us."

"Just get on the table." the doctor said a little frustrated. He proceeded with his exam. After a moment Deanna inquired as to the baby's condition, but before she could add Will's name, Will interrupted.

"The baby! What about me?" he exclaimed.

"I think I have a good idea how you are doing." she retorted, then said, "And Will's."

"Well, counselor, he's in shock."

"Tell me something I don't know," Deanna demanded while rolling her eyes.

"It's a boy." the doctor joked.

Deanna was feeling a bit irritable now. "No, I mean, like are my husband and child going to be ok physically?"

"I believe so."

"Believe?" Deanna persisted with an eyebrow rising.

"Yes, the uterus and umbilical cord are intact." the doctor stated gesturing to the scans.

"A uterus?" Will's eyes got wide. "I have a uterus?"

The doctor and Deanna just starred at him, like they wanted to tell him to get over it. Both thought better of it though given the circumstances.

"Doctor, is this child going to be ok?" Deanna asked gesturing to her own stomach with concern.

The doctor scanned her where she stood. Finally, he said, "Yes, very healthy and all is the same minus one child."

"Doctor, you still haven't worked on your bedside manner have you?" Deanna inquired.

"No, too busy dealing with unusual pregnancies." the doctor answerred.

Ignoring the last Deanna just said, "Well, make time." she ordered. "Meanwhile, until Q returns to put this child back where he belongs, what are we going to do with the father?"

"Well, let's see." looking up toward the ceiling. "He has four months to go. We could have him see me every other week for another month and then every week..."

Deanna crossed her arms and gave the doctor a look that could kill. "That's not what I meant."

"Well, yes," clearing his throat. "He does look like an idiot setting there observing and petting his stomach." Observed the doctor, then he looked at Deanna. "No chance he would be any good as our captain."

Deanna shooked her head no and the doctor agreed. Then he continued, "We'll just keep him off duty until he is mentally fit for duty. However, long that may take."

"Ah, my son. I get to take care of my son." Will was blubberring as he petted his stomach.

"I never thought I would say a captain was unfit for duty due to a pregnancy." Deanna said, watching her husband.

"Yeah, well, women don't find pregnancy mentally disturbing as a rule." added the doctor.

"I'm the captain." Will said starring at his stomach."Who's a man with a uterus and six months pregnant."

Deanna sensed Will erratic emotions swinging from one extreme to the other. The doctor shifted his gaze from Riker to Deanna and all he could say was, "Take him home, Counselor."
